When Diplo was named the ‘Dance Artist Of The Year' by Billboard, Diplo said in an interview that EDM is “really lame” and that “it’s a sinking ship. It’s a really lame culture.”
Diplo who has a reported net worth of $15 million dollars, said in the interview “I'm sad that I'm part of it, but I play the game.”
These quotes was met with much backlash by fans who criticised Diplo for helping build the scene that he is now calling lame.
