There seems to be a resurgence of the 80’s synth pop sound occurring at present, which is something that I’m more that stoked to see! One such artist participating in this revival is Norway’s electric synth pop sensation, ST. NIKLAS. He tells us that as a teenager coming of age in the 2000’s, he always “romanticized the idea of growing up in the 80's, walking around with a Sony Walkman listening to mixtapes.” And his music is certainly a reflection of this statement with soaring synths and alluring vocals.
Today we’ve got the honor of debuting a killer new remix of ST. NIKLAS' recent track “Who We Are” by the rising EDM artist, Axnes. The producer takes the original’s strong vocals and synths and throws his own experimentation into the mix in the form of kinky percussion and minimized melodies. If you’re looking for a new experimental electronic jam, look no further.
And if you’re into the sensual singing and retro production exemplified by ST. NIKLAS, you’re definitely in luck as the dude is gearing up to release his first EP titled “C-O-O-L.” That should be dropping in early September. Mark you calendars, but while you wait kick back and enjoy Anxes’ take on “Who We Are!”
