The iOS 10 iMessage add ons have been all the rage recently. Whether you are sending a pick of your junk and want that bad boy blurred out or are sending an animated heart that you drew yourself, the options are there. What about music though?
Well in addition to the funky features mentioned above the iOS 10 update allows third parties to create apps that work in collaboration with iMessage. This might be a little convoluted but it is an absolute game changer. Shazam has announced that they will be soon launching Shazam for iMessage.
“We are very pleased to bring the new functionality of iMessage to our global audience. We are always working to improve our user experience with new technology, and we are excited to launch this feature with iOS 10.” – Fabio Santini, CPO
So lets set the stage: Have you ever been at a festival, hear an incredible song you know someone would love, Shazam it, then promptly forget that ever happened and never even bring it up with the person you thought of? Yeah well now that will never happen again, the app allows the user to just click the Shazam button in iMessage and the track information will appear right in the text box. This will be an awesome innovation for sharing new music!
