In early October Pasquale Rotella announced he would be launching a new medieval-themed festival, Middlelands.
This unique camping festival is the brainchild of seasoned production companies Insomniac Events (Electric Daisy Carnival) and C3 Presents (Austin City Limits and Lollapalooza).
Thanks to the website launch, Middlelands is confirmed to be held in Mission Todd, Texas (50 miles northwest of Houston) on May 5-7. The festival will take place on the Texas Renaissance Festival Fairgrounds, the largest fairground in the country of its kind. Boasting over 200 acres, there is plenty of room for a uniquely medieval experience. If its anything like other Insomniac camping festivals, we are in for an insane time.
Themed “Adventures for the Ages,” this one-of-a-kind event will transport you to a fantastic middle-aged kingdom—giant turkey legs and all.
Five custom designed stages will be tucked into a mystical forest adorned with with medieval-themed art installations, amusement rides, and middle age structures. The artist lineup has not yet been released, but between Insomniac and C3 Presents, we shouldn’t be disappointed.
Several types of 4-day camping passes will also be available to attendees, in renaissance fashion of course. Some of the options include RV camping, quiet camping, forest camping and more. There’s also a “sound” camping option where attendees are encouraged to bring their own sound systems and show of their skills to their fellow campers.
We are seriously looking forward to this event. Take a virtual tour of the grounds here.
