When Flume tells you to listen to a song, you listen to it. The 25-year-old Australian producer is most commonly known for his innate ability to completely turn what we know about electronic music on its head and create something new and uniquely different, almost every time he releases a track.
So when Flume shares a playlist of his favorites tunes, we can’t help but stop and listen. It’s fascinating to know what the producer, himself, calls “good music.” He’s taken to Spotify to share an 11-track playlist called “Beats And Things” on Spotify and it’s pretty banging. It’s important to note, that earlier this week it was rumored that this list had over 100+ songs, but it’s been cut down significantly so he’s most likely editing it in real-time. While 100 songs is basically the only Christmas present we’ll ever need, 11 tracks is definitely a nice little stocking stuffer we can all chew on over the next few weeks.
Chill vibes. That’s what “Beats And Things” is all about. There’s a good range of stuff on his list. From hip-hop influenced artists like Hermitude to futuristic sounds of araabMUZIK. And it wouldn’t be complete without a few of his most crowd-pleasing tracks like “Say It” with Tove Lo and “Never Be Like You” featuring Kai.
This playlist comes the heels of his new EP, Skin Companion which is set to drop late November. Happy Saturday, friends. Have a listen and enjoy your weekend.
