Day 2 of The BPM Festival, January 7th it was a clear gorgeous night. The highly anticipated return of its signature event YA’AH MUUL, The Jungle party. If you don’t know what the jungle is, it’s where the people from BPM transform a secluded area away from the city into the jungles of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In order to get to the party, you would have to take a shuttle provided by BPM. Everyone was going to The Jungle that night, with a lineup like that you would have regretted it if you did miss it. As you enter the Jungle, you are surrounded by nature and gorgeous BPM structures and decorations that were beautifully crafted into art. People dancing everyone, people bonding and making new connections, it's the perfect place to party. There were two stages the MainStage, and a smaller tent that was more intimate. The decks were surrounded by jungle-like trees and shrubs giving it the ultimate jungle vibe.
The lineup was the something only one techno lover would ever dream of, with Art Department, Steve Lawler, Shaun Reeves, Acid Mondays, and the king himself Carl Cox. Which had the delightful pleasure of meeting him, making the BPM experience even more magical. Making friends with the artists, and production it was a giant party right on the MainStage, an experience that will be forever embedded in my memories. When Steve Lawler was closing out Carl Cox appears and starts to play back-to-back with him making the night even more special. Having to seen Carl Cox many times in the past this time his set was, even more, better than ever, it truly my favorite set I’ve ever witnessed. Art Department closing the night was an exquisite treat as well, a divine cool down from every fire set that was played earlier that night.
As we make our way to the Palapa Stage features artists D'Julz, Chaim, Francesca Lombardo, Renato Ratier, Albuquerque, Conti & Leo Janeiro were giving extraordinary performances. We noticed the people in the crowd communicating with artist Francesca Lombardo (who absolutely killed it that night) with such love and passion, it was so beautiful. The inside of the tent was dropping upside umbrellas giving an illusion like you were in a dream. The Palapa Stage would fill up unbelievable groovy bass, less intense as the MainStage, setting the mood just right.
A truly magical place, it made people visit the Jungle every chance there was a party. The Jungle was a place where people could actually be free, free to do whatever and be whoever they wanted. It made people dance for hours and hours, feeding everyone with wonderful vibes.
