Slow Hours, a new collaborative group of musical geniuses has shown an innate ability to consolidate multitudes of music styles into one cohesive sound. The combined efforts of DJs Lain, Astre, Kultur, Kidswaste, Khamsin, and Rusty Hook transform their chill tunes into an unforgettable electric sound. Although hints of each artist's previous work can be heard, it is clear this track generates a new contemporary sound. If you thought any of these DJs were killing it solo, prepare your ears for this track.
Despite the sharp contrast from What So Not & Ganz's original track from the album ‘Divide and Conquer’, this remix falls nothing short of stellar. With a much faster beat incorporated, it redefines the title ‘Lone’. In the original mix the lyrics speak much louder than the chill, trap-infused melody. The progression of the deep bass highlights the overwhelming isolation of being alone.
Slow Hours has managed to spawn an eerie tone by introducing a soft, piano lullaby throughout the entirety of the song. With automatic intensity flowing in, the seductive vocals from Joy strike a strange desire to go on some sort of power trip. The techno influence interlaced with powerful synths throughout the track demonstrate the advanced understanding of tenacious trap. Violent, energetic sounds can be difficult to transform into a strong, harmonious message. A daunting task such as that has not hindered their ability to compose brilliant electronic music.
