Notaker has dropped Shimmer, his first release of 2017, on Monstercat’s label. The previous song released was called Gems, and after hearing Shimmer, it is safe to say Notaker could use that title for all of his tracks. Between his latest releases and his monster remix of Jaytech’s Future Story, which you can listen to Here, I would say Notaker is the breakout artists that electronic dance music is in need of.
Shimmer starts off by pouring sound into action. As the notes cascade into form and the melody takes shape, the song is jolted into the drop in an almost Porter Robinson fashion. With chirps that are reminiscent of M83’s Midnight City, this song really solidifies Notakers ability to produce top shelf music. I feel that 2017 will be huge for the St. Louis-based producer and I look forward to hearing what he has in store for us this year.
