On February 11, 2017 up-and-coming bass artist, Woolymammoth, took the stage at Schubas Tavern in Chicago. The concert was opened by local electronic group LWKY who incorporates funk vibes with the signature wub sound of dubstep.
After warming the crowd with their groovy, 
but still heavy jams, LWKY left the stage for Woolymammoth to destroy. The San Francisco native opened with some of his newer music off of his Nova Jaunt mixtape. Each song effortlessly flowed into another to the point where a listener could not necessarily differentiate what was the beginning and what was the end.
However, what the up and comer is known for isn’t the glitch of his newer releases, but the heavy drops from his older works and remixes. It was clear the crowd was itching to throw down, a
nd Woolymammoth withheld that from them for slightly too long. Yet, when he began to drop his older music, the crowd went wild, especially when he played Ella. The musician also paid his respects to Flying Lotus and incorporated both rising bass star G Jones and trap god Bauuer into his set.
Woolymammoth’s dirty set reminiscent of the underworld proves he is crafting a unique place for himself in the world of electronic music, but still has room for growth. The young artists will be playing more tours across North America as well as both weekends of Electric Forest so be sure to catch him live.
