This morning The Chainsmokers took to their social media pages this morning to release a reflective statement on a fan who has just passed away from terminal cancer. The guys asked for people to read the post, and we felt that we could help by sharing the statement on the site.
The statement talks about how the the duo received an email from a fan informing them that while he and his friend Jake were very excited to attend to guy's show in London, they would no longer be able to as Jake's cancer had recently gotten worse. Though Jake's friend did ask Alex and Drew to send Jake a short video to keep his spirits up. After The Chainsmokers sent Jake a video but the reply they got was devastating.
It was from Jake's dad who tearfully thanked the guys but also informed them that Jake had passed. This lead to The Chainsmokers creating the below post. The guys asked for their fans to do two things in memory of their fallen fan:
1. Think about how much better it is to go the extra mile to do something positive today
and
2. Just because life is fragile, always cherish those you care about and love. As you never know when things can drastically change.
