After managing one of the world's most famous DJs, Ash Pournouri is finally seeking for some new talent. Hoping to potentially create the next big thing, Ash has created a digital talent search platform, known as “Self Made,” that will help him accomplish this goal. The platform is totally based on the creation of new music from unknown artists across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. People around the world will be able to vote for their favorite songs and will decide which song becomes a big hit. After the votes are counted, the 21 most popular acts will move on to the developmental stage. The developmental stage consists of plenty of training from well-known artists and producers around the world. Afterward, only 12 contestants will be chosen to gather in Stockholm to perform studio and live sessions that will be streamed online.

The final round will take place on May 27th in Stockholm. The winner of the contest will land a 50-50 record deal with Pournouri's own PMRD label and a $25,000 reward. The winner will also have the oppurtunity to work and co-write songs with John Martin, Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, and Arnthor Birgisson.
Pournouri had a lot to say about today's music industry and his new platform:
“Right now if you want to break through online and promote yourself, you have to struggle for attention among endless funny cat videos, gaming videos, cooking videos and everything in between. On lots of other talent shows, the filtering process is done by a few select people. We’re offering the fans the chance to get involved from the get go. We don’t dictate anything; we don’t dictate who goes into the final, who wins and we don’t dictate how the artists should express themselves. We’re not going to say, ‘This week, you sing a rock classic. This week you sing a country song.' We’re allowing the artists to express their own identity, because I think that’s the only way you get a real artist to flourish. We don’t want karaoke artists. We want the real ones.”
Self Made is plannned to be projected on a global level by next year. There has also been talk that the platform will not only be extended to singers and rappers, but to other genres as well. This a big step for the hard-working manager, but will he manage to find the world's next big thing? Well, only time will tell.
