Everyone has been freaking out about Skrillex recently. First and foremost there were some pretty incredulous conspiracy theories going around that since he had returned with his former band, it meant that he was officially retiring from dance music. Obviously as most conspiracy theories go – it ended up being BS.
Then Skrillex tweeted out that himself and Diplo had finished their last live performance together with the conclusion of festival season. He then quickly deleted that tweet. We all kind of moved on from it until. Then a few months ago Slushii went online and talked about some apparent drama going on between Skrillex and Diplo. Not giving specifics but stating that the beef, ‘is a thing'. Everyone was reeling for answers. That is until a few hours ago.
The Truth Comes Out
Well luckily today for us, inthemix attended a Q/A with Diplo in Sydney and got some answers surrounding what is going on with everyone's favorite side project. Someone in the Q/A asked if any more releases would come from the side project to which Diplo replied with:
“Hopefully. Right now I’m just doing a lot of new Major Lazer stuff and Diplo stuff. The thing with Jack Ü is complicated, because of Atlantic. Skrillex is signed to that label and it’s difficult to do anything with that. I hate major labels, so I don’t really want to do anything with major labels. So it’s hard.”
So there you have it. Diplo and Skrillex do not hate each other. Honestly there is also a really good chance that new Jack Ü could be on the distant horizon. Diplo conducted this Q/A for his charity Heaps Decent which you should totally go and check out.
