Kaskade is at it again with yet another remix, and we guarantee it will be your go-to chill summer jam.
This week, we are featuring Kaskade’s take on CID’s emotional ballad, “Secrets.” The song was released on Beat Port Records and will be available on an EP later this year.
The song paints a picture of what it’s like to truly look out for a friend, in good times and in hardship. The video shows a man literally carrying the weight of his friend's secrets on his back as a woman watches from the distance. The song seems to be an ode to the unconditional love that needs the most work but runs the deepest.
Well, Kaskade definitely felt the emotion in this song and produced his own deeper, more down tempo version of the track.
The song immediately hits you with a mesmerizing deep house bassline and hypnotic drums. The groovy intro is then met with soulful vocals from Conrad Sewell who is most well known for his feature on Kygo’s “Firestone.”
The buildup is then met by a more subtle drop than the original, but it’s just as captivating. In true Kaskade fashion, the raw emotion shines through and can truly be felt in your bones.
In an interview with Billboard Kaskade explains that it was a treat to work with CID's music. “He’s a rare talent, and I’m stoked to have the opportunity to put my own spin on his work,” Kaskade said.
So put this grove on full blast in your car and go for a drive, we promise you’ll catch some feels.
