His name has been all over electronic music news for various reasons, both good and bad. Whether it be a Twitter beef, a new track, or a wild aspect of his friendship with Nick Colletti, Getter has made a name for himself and become a serious figure in the dance music scene. Here at EDM Sauce, we're much bigger fans of covering actual music and news rather than gossip and internet fights, and we are happy to bring you a new project from Getter that is pushing his boundaries as an artist. In a recent interview with Getter, we had the chance to talk to him a lot about his new label Shred Collective which was the platform where he premiered a new side project of his titled Terror Reid. Outside of his electronic productions, it is well known that Getter is a major fan of hip-hop, citing his favorite artists as Eminem and Mobb Deep. Now, it seems that he has taken up hip-hop himself and not only has produced the beat for his new track, but also rapped over it.
Getter's new piece features a perfectly produced hip-hop beat similar to the style of Odd Future or Danny Brown and lyrics that contain some of the most mature content we have ever heard. His flow is eerily smooth and his ability to dominate all aspects of the track from the production to the vocals with grace is seriously impressive. Coupled with the release was a music video in which Getter rocks an all white ski Mask and finds his way through city streets accompanied by simple animations of the lyrics as they leave his mouth. While we're fans of dance music first, this new piece is truly hard not to love. Take a listen below, and let us know if you dig the new direction that Getter is taking his talents to.
