With “Humanz” to be released at the end of the month, the album will mark the first full-length release from Gorillaz in over half a decade. It's easily been one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, and with four singles already under the band's virtual belt, Gorillaz dropped yet another single today (Thursday, April 6).
The latest Gorillaz single, “Let Me Out” featuring Mavis Staples and Pusha T, fits right in with the other “Humanz” singles, blending genres into a category all the band's own. Gorillaz has never quite been alternative rock, or electronic, or hip-hop… or any genre for that matter. It's Gorillaz. (It'z*) And, nonetheless, that's “Let Me Out” and what “Humanz” will presumably be.
