Vini Vici is the project of Aviram Saharai & Matan Kadosh, both well-known and experienced electronic music producers for over a decade.
The concept of Vini Vici was formed by the boys with an intention to express their love for the old school sound, paired with their progressive ideas.
Iboga Records and FM Bookings, widely considered to be the biggest psytrance label and booking agency, were the first to see the potential of the project and invited them to be part of their well respected family, alongside names such as: Ace Ventura, Liquid Soul, Ticon, Captain Hook, Atmos, and the like.
I had a chance to ask them some questions as well as get an exclusive mix from them for our new mix series ‘The Recipe'. Follow our Soundcloud to here it other exclusive mixes.
Check out the mix and interview below!
1. Lets start off with the beginning. How did you guys meet, and what made you decide on the name Vini Vici?
We both came from the same city in Israel called Afula, a very small city where everyone knows each other, we both loved psytrance what led us to bond and made us form our first project Sesto Sento 15 years ago togther with a 3rd partner.
The Vini Vici project came to life when our 3rd partner for Sesto Sento became religious and left the group and we decided to start a new page with a new concept and ideas.
2. My favorite trance song hands down over the past year is Great Spirit, your track with Armin featuring vocals from the Hilight Tribe. What was your thought process behind this track?
First was a huge honer and lots of excitement to get an opportunity working with a legend like Armin, then we were just thinking on how to mix both worlds musically in a way everyone would be happy, it was such a great process and Armin was super open minded and down to earth which made it very easy.
3. How was Ultra?
Wow, just amazing! We weren't sure what to expect but we gave our best and looks like people just loved it. Till now we're getting huge amounts of feedbacks, amazing experience.
4. What does the future have in store for Vini Vici?
Lots of things are in the process musically and carrier wise, lots of spotlights over our heads which makes us think on every step we take a bit more. We will always try to push the barriers a bit more thats for sure.
5. Since this show is called “the recipe” we had to throw a food question in. What is your favorite home cooked meal, and what is your favorite “junk” food?
Hehehe, mmmm, hard one.
Matan: Cooked meal will be my mother's roasted lamb, junk will be Yakiniku grill at japan, if you can call it junk food.
Aviram: Cooked meal, I guess, Persian Gondi and junk mmm I guess also Yakiniku its just amazing!
