Showing an incredibly mature and forward-thinking style right now on Quality Goods Records is California's sumthin sumthin. He has just presented his debut EP for UZ's flourishing label, and the production on it is outstanding.
sumthin sumthin has been making music for some time now, and is not afraid to explore different techniques and sounds throughout the “Afterglow” EP. “Lotus” is first to land, and packs in an array of varying rhythms, melodies and 808s. “Pink” soon follows, a subtle slice of electronica that moves with funky swagger and sway.
We love the minimalistic vibes of “Hollow,” stretching out its bassline and adding in almost stutters of tune that create untold amounts of atmosphere. Closing the pack is “Moves” ft. MC Snowy, a sharp, crisp grime-influenced cut that will keep listeners guessing.
