As the Webster High School students gathered in the school auditorium today, none of them expected what would happen next.
The high schoolers had only heard rumors and guesses as to who could be the surprise guest for the Senior Day assembly. As Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist congratulated the students on their year, Gist asked the students if they knew the song “Hey, I was doing just fine before I met you…” The students soon began to clap and sing along to The Chainsmokers' single “Closer.” Moments later, the student body noticed Alex Pall and Drew Taggart from The Chainsmokers and quickly erupted into cheers.
After a short speech by The Chainsmokers congratulating the class on their success, the duo invited students to take a group “Selfie,” and then handed out free tickets to their show at the BOK Center.
Congrats Webster high school on bouncing back & graduating like such bosses! Thx for letting us crash senior day & see u at the show tonight
