Watch: Gesaffelstein’s ‘Pursuit’ Get Recreated On A Mini Drum Machine

Swedish Youtuber ‘tubesockor’ has sent Gesaffelstein fans mad by recreating a mesmerising cover of his techno anthem ‘Pursuit’ on a tiny PO-32 drum machine. Pretty much recreating it note-for-note, the outcome is mind-blowingly similar to the original, leaving us in awe at how much time and effort probably went into nailing down the detail. And if you want to know how ‘tubesocker’ did it:

“I tried to be as close as possible to the original, combining both programmed patterns (used up all 16 of them) as well as live playing (used up 15 out of 16 sound slots, creating all sounds in Microtonic).”

“The PO-32 has 16 sounds but only four channels, meaning that it takes some planning in order to perform it. But challenges are fun!”

“Sound 13, 15 and 16 are silent – in order to have access to quick mutes. No effects, limiting or EQ applied – all comes straight from the output. (and mic… 🙂 )”

“The strong bass-to-kick sidechain ducking was emulated by lowering the volume on bass notes placed on kick notes (using a morph location between a low volume and high volume sound).”

‘Pursuit' isn't the only song they've recreated on the PO-32, their channel is filled with recreations including Kygo‘s ‘Firestone'. Check out the full channel for more PO-32 covers.
