Mura Masa seems set on making 2017 his year. So far he has been easily accomplishing that goal. The artist played what is now considered one of the best Coachella sets of the year. A steady stream of originals and collaborations ranging from chilled out to energetic have only helped his rise to glory.
Today Mura Masa teamed up with Damon Albarn of the Gorillaz for a journey of aural intrigue known at ‘Blu”. All we can say is WOW. This track is downright gorgeous in every way. Mura Masa's subtle use of percussion mixed with his shimmering synths and Albarn's dreamy vocals make for a four and a half minute musical vision quest. The last thirty seconds of the song are entirely just ambient background noise and serve as a wonderful time to contemplate everything you just took in on a sonic level.
This one is easily one of the best productions we have heard so far this year. They thing is – is that we are sure Mura Masa will top it in no time. Listen below.
