When R&B music and Electronic music combine it's usually an extremely beautiful thing. Take “Reaction” by Gromo and Breana Marin for example, a gorgeous combination of lush electronic, almost hip-hop infused production style alongside Marin's flawless, sexy top line. This single is a great introduction to both artists, and I'm all in for it. Check out the new collaboration, “Reaction” below now! We also asked Gromo a handful of questions so check out the brief interview as well.
“Reaction” was more hip-hop driven, what was the inspiration behind that?
In general I am a huge fan of hip-hop. Programming trap style drums comes very naturally to me so they are always a go to when it comes to making songs.
Is there a reason you focus on one word with your song titles?
Actually with “Reaction” the vocalist Breana Marin came up with the title. If there is one powerful word that conveys the songs message, I'll use it. With this said, one of my earlier tracks “Yearning for Love” felt natural. It's less about one word titles and more about creating a mood.
What are the key elements of your signature sound?
Hip-Hop beats and attitude, R&B chords and melodies, electronic synths and production techniques.
What helps you get out of writers block when experiencing it?
Usually I just listen to a variety of genres. I'd like to think my headphones are never off my head as listening to music is my passion. Also, Netflix and Youtube are always good ways to free my mind from writer’s block.
How many songs are done and are set to come out?
I have so much music done but now I am concentrating on four more releases by the end of the year. I'm not looking to stop releasing.
Any collaborations in the work by end of 2017?
Yes I'm collaborating with some really talented vocalists and for me the excitement continues to build.
