PrototypeRaptor just dropped an upbeat and fun electro track Ribbon And Gold. This producer remains painfully underrated and currently holds the number one spot on my bucket list of artists I have yet to see live. With funk fueled bass lines and synths that lay somewhere between 1970 and 3070 I can always tell a PrototypeRaptor track even though each one is vastly different from the next.
Ribbon And Gold begins with hard hitting drums and a bouncy bass line. The song breaks down as the vocals come in as the song struts through the calm before the storm. The drop is introduced perfectly by the lyrics “go ahead n break it” and the song does just that, breaks loose. With scribbles, wobbles, and scratches, PrototypeRaptor throughs everything at you in the first drop. The vocals return followed by yet another layer of 80s style synths until the break. The song builds back up and the second drop hits with one intention, to make you dance. About half way through the drop PrototypeRaptor truly breaks it down in break beat fashion that is so good it may just bring the pop and lock back. The song closes out with a vintage break dance inducing bass line underneath twinkling synths. Ribbon And Gold is a fine example just how talented PrototypeRaptor is.
