The awe-inspiringly titled Yvng Jalapeño teams up with the precocious talent that is Ian Munro for a collaborative release on the recently unmasked UZ’s Quality Goods label.
Flexing their finest trap muscles, the duo join forces with vocalist Cultra on “I Don’t Need You,” creating a track that simultaneously has some pop sensibilities yet still bangs hard with stop-start rhythmic synths and punchy drums – while Cultra’s vocals and memorable lyrics add something deliciously mesmerising to “I Don’t Need You” and its mix.
Jalapeño and Munro’s beats and drum patterns syncopate perfectly – sounds jostle for position without feeling cluttered, giving the track some real melodic flow.
