It's no secret, Liam Gallagher of Oasis hates most things — more specifically, the man hates most artists, bands and people in the music industry. The entire world already knows how much he hates his brother, Noel Gallagher, whom he oh so constantly fought with throughout their days with Oasis, ultimately leading to the band's breakup, but Noel's only the first name atop a long list.
He recently, however, has chosen a new target, and in an interview with Huck Magazine, Gallagher (Liam) discussed his distaste for DJs. In response to the suggestion that DJs are the new rock stars, Gallagher first asked, “Did they?”
Arguably, the “DJ” has reached a level of super stardom only comparable to the rock star, though I do understand his frustration. He elaborated:
“Not in my world, they haven’t. What, Calvin fuckin’ Harris? The most boring fucking person? … I’ll tell you what they’ve become: the new accountants.”
He also explained how new music feels “bland,” an adjective not entirely without merit, but to compare DJs to accountants… really? I would argue that the rise of electronic music has written some pretty interesting characters, but I guess Liam needs something new to hate.
