There are the staunch tech heads who follow their techno OG's like Gods, the progressive house kids who cry their eyes out at the Ultra main stage, the big room house kids who cover themselves in Kandi as they fist pump the night away, and the future house kids who shuffle faster than we can blink our eyes. Genre to genre, the intensity of house music stays alive and rocks clubs until the wee hours of the morning at all costs.
However, there are some artists who seem to blend the genre lines and bring together fans from all over the house scene. These are acts who, rather than finding their place within a set of boundaries, just make whatever the hell they want to, and people seem to latch onto those acts especially. An act who bends the genre lines heavily is a man named Chris Lake who has found his place in many different corners of house music. Most of his tunes fall somewhere in the tech house/future house range, however it seems that some of his tunes cannot even be specified. Simultaneously, these are unspecified tracks are the tunes that find their way to the highest popularity, so there's clearly something to his musical mind that other producers have yet to pick up on.
For house fans in the city of Philadelphia, this Friday night will be a very special one. Lake is set to headline Coda, one of the hottest venues in the city, in an intimate, late night, 21+ environment. This show will be sexy, intense, filled with tons of good music, flowing drinks, and mature people. This is the type of show that a house head would only be able to ask for in their dreams.
