Late last year, Josh Young of Flosstradamus stunned fans by announcing his decision to part ways with the group and to focus on his solo career. While the reasoning behind the split was never made public, a recent interview talks about some of the factors that lead to one of dance music's biggest splits.
Josh told Run The Trap that “There are some factors I’m willing to discuss publicly and some that I’m not. Mainly in addition to wanting to spend more time with my family, I wanted to take creative control of my career, music and artistic vision.”
After a decade with Flosstradamus, Josh said he “felt it was time to let go.”
“When it came to music we didn’t collaborate music. Songs [were] usually produced by one of us,” Josh said. “Curt usually produced the originals, and I usually handled remixes and collabs. I don’t miss sharing creative responsibility.”
Josh now tours and produces music under the alias YehMe2. Make sure to check out future collabs with Troyboi, Seno, Whipped Cream and many others.
