Bassnectar and more specifically his loyal fandom have had a rough week so far in terms of involvement on social media. I will be the first to admit 90% of Bassheads are not the people who are getting called out. It is the militant minority that has continually created issues. I also get insane fandom though. When Deadmau5 released ‘Random Album Title' I was pretty sure it was the more important release of the century. In hindsight I did and said some cringe level 1000 stuff in defense of a guy who has now blocked me on Twitter and definitely hates me entirely since I periodically write things he deems cancerous.
I digress though. Rezz had her own run in with the Nectar community this week. A lot of fans were up in arms and publicly stated that Rezz should not be allowed to play Bassnectar‘s tracks. Which is a bit weird considering Bassnectar routinely plays other artist's tracks in his sets. It became such an issue that Rezz literally had to take to Twitter to remind people that the real beauty of electronic music is that it can be so easily shared between many different artists. So take it from someone that was a super fan at one point – it is best to keep an open mind when it comes to dance music, because you never know what you might miss when you are wearing mental blinders.
Sorry let me clarify why: it's cuz apparently his fans don't like it wen other artists play his tunes.
Well I like him! So I will !— RΞZZ (@OfficialRezz) November 5, 2017
Let me add that ofcourse it is only some of the fans.
But for any1 to allow themselves to get upset over something like that, cmon now!— RΞZZ (@OfficialRezz) November 5, 2017
Don't let yourself get mad over petty things. It's just bad for you & it's rly not gonna do good for any1, but especially urself!
