Natives to New Jersey, I've been following Cash Cash since the trio's earliest days as a band. And although the Cash Cash sound has seen some variation over that decade or so, the artistry has remained intact.
The trio's latest release — titled “Belong” and featuring Dashboard Confessional — however, showcases a blend of those sounds. Dashboard Confessional offers an indie pop vocal that brings me back to Cash Cash's earliest sound, meanwhile the production takes the track to today. The result could meet somewhere in the middle, and I would not have been surprised to hear “Belong” on the Overtime EP now over four years old.
It may be a couple weeks old, but “Belong” was a beautiful release, following “All My Love” and “Matches” to ultimately end the calendar year. Listen to “Belong” by Cash Cash below!
