Although Spotify does not publish an official per stream rate for artists, many studies have found that unsigned artists typically get paid differently then signed artists. Spotify pays the majority of their revenues earned through their subscriptions as well as advertising money from their free plans.
The royalty payments depend on several different variables, such as the country they stream from, whether the users are paid or freemium users and the deals different music distributors have with Spotify.
The calculator below will give you a rough estimate of how much money you can expect to receive in royalties aside from distribution fees, management, and the labels’ cut.
